Belief Bakery #28
This recipe for vegan Fruit Tart was published in Guide magazine’s December 6, 2025, issue, a weekly publication for children ages 10-14. It is the final article in a series of 28 installments called “Belief Bakery,” which uses hands-on cooking projects to illustrate the 28 fundamental beliefs of Seventh-day Adventists.
This project is in collaboration with my husband, Greg Reseck, a retired educator specializing in project-based learning. We emphasize the love of God and biblical concepts, tying them into fun cooking projects with healthy, plant-based recipes.
The New Earth—God’s Forever Home for Us
This kid-friendly recipe features Adventist Belief 28: The New Earth. Seventh-day Adventists believe God will recreate the earth and restore it to perfection, as in Eden. This means Jesus will give us a new, perfect world with no tears, sickness, or death. In the New Earth, we’ll live joyfully with God forever. Everything will be beautiful, peaceful, and full of life—just the way God always wanted it to be.
In the New Earth, people will live in peace, nature will be full of life, and everyone will be healthy and happy. We’ll get to spend forever with Jesus in a world where nothing ever goes wrong. It’s God’s way of showing how much He loves His children.
Your Forever Home
When the great controversy between good and evil ends, God will remove every trace of selfishness and sin from the universe. He will make everything new (see Revelation 21:5; Isaiah 65:17, 18). “But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth He has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness.” 2 Peter 3:13 New Living Translation
Life on the New Earth will be like a joyful, endless vacation in God’s perfect paradise. You will be fully restored to the image of God. You won’t have scars, braces, glasses, or painful memories.
The New Earth will be more amazing than you can imagine. “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9 New Living Translation
Better than a family reunion, you’ll meet Jesus, your guardian angel, loved ones, and Bible heroes. Better than watching animals at a zoo, you’ll play with lions, giraffes, and elephants. Better than summer camp, you’ll enjoy new adventures, learn new skills, and make new forever friends in your heavenly family. Better than a theme park, you’ll experience God’s amazing creation and indescribable beauty.
Better than virtual reality, you’ll explore the vastness of God’s galaxies and the universe unlimited by time or space. Better than ice cream, you’ll eat from the Tree of Life, taste exquisite new flavors, and share meals with Jesus around the banquet table. Better than smartphones, computers, and artificial intelligence, you’ll delve into the realities of God’s wisdom and the mysteries of life.
And one more bonus: you won’t ever have to sleep again! (see Revelation 22:5).
The clean universe will not have a single sign of sin…except the scars on Jesus’ hands and feet, an eternal reminder of His love for you. Jesus willingly died for you so you can receive the gift of eternal life (see John 3:16). He wants to fill your life now and forever with the joy of His presence (see Psalm 16:11).
No-Bake Vegan Fruit Tart

In this cooking project, you’ll create edible art with fruit to create a vegan fruit tart (also called fruit pizza). It’s a tiny preview of the beautiful colors and delicious flavors you’ll enjoy in the New Earth.
This activity is a small reminder that while we wait for God’s perfect world, we can enjoy His gifts today—starting with this colorful, delicious fruit tart.
As you design your tart, picture the brightest, sweetest fruits, and a world where everything is perfect and peaceful. God gives us good things now so we can look forward to even greater things in His new creation.
